Piano Lessons
Lessons are taught at Arbor Music (33311 Bear Branch Ln Magnolia, TX) or in your home.
Lessons are 30-minute, weekly lessons are at a set time and day of the week.
Accepting students from the age of 5 to adults. This is a beginner to mid intermediate level instruction. Using a series of books by Faber Piano Adventures, the student is taught how to read sheet music and play the piano.
Books vary for each student. You do not have to purchase any before an initial meet up. Bring any books that you have if the student has taken lessons in the past so a correct assessment can be made.
Lesson
Introducing subject matter; beginning with central notes, note values, and learning how to read musical notation.
Performance
Practicing additional pieces using the newly learned concepts help with mastering this instrument.
Technique and Artistry
Exercises, musical techniques, and how to perfect them are necessary for complex pieces.
Theory
Recollection of notes and symbols are reinforced with comprehensive quizzes and games.
Policies and Pricing
Piano tuition is required at the beginning of the month. 4-5 weekly lessons are provided for $135 a month.
A trial lesson* is offered for $35.
*Though not required, a trial lesson might be suggested to determine if there is indeed interest for lessons, and to conduct an assessment on which level the student would start.
For private lessons, a $20 gasoline fee may be applied to long distance locations.
If the student is unable to attend the piano lesson, a make-up lesson is not guaranteed.
If the teacher is unavailable to make a lesson for personal reasons, a make-up lesson will be scheduled, or tuition will be reduced.
For most holiday dates, lessons will be canceled or rescheduled, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. At the end of the year, there will be a short break from lessons for the holiday season between Christmas and New Years'. This is usually 2-3 lessons.
